- Zest of 1 lemon
- Pinch of salt
🍒 Crisp topping:
- 1 cup old-fashioned rolled oats

- ½ teaspoon salt
- 8 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed
Instructions for Farmhouse Sour Cherry Crisp
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Lightly butter a 9-inch baking dish.
In a large bowl, toss the pitted sour cherries with cane sugar, cornstarch, vanilla extract, lemon zest, and a pinch of salt until evenly coated. Spread the mixture into the prepared baking dish.
In another bowl, combine oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt. Cut in the cold butter using a pastry cutter or fingertips until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.

Enjoy warm, ideally with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream or a dollop of farm-fresh whipped cream.

- Farm Tip: If your sour cherries are extra juicy, add an additional tablespoon of cornstarch to thicken the filling perfectly.
