A Symphony of Flavors for Every Palate!

Black currants are a nutritional gem, packed with vitamin C—more than oranges! These berries are rich in anthocyanins, the antioxidants responsible for their dark hue and disease-fighting properties. Studies have linked black currants to improved vision, reduced inflammation, and support for heart and immune health.

Harvest Season

At Dee’s Nutz and Berries, our currants are ripe for picking during the sunny summer months. Red currants typically begin the season in late June, followed by black and white currants in July. It’s the perfect time to visit our U-pick fruit and nut farm in Southern Wisconsin, enjoy the fresh air, and create lasting memories with family and friends.

Each variety offers its own unique flavor profile, but black currants stand out with their bold, intense taste. Rich in anthocyanins, these dark berries help fight oxidative stress, reduce inflammation, and support long-term wellness. Research even suggests they may improve heart health, enhance night vision, and help reduce the risk of macular degeneration and other eye disorders (source).
